Fact-Checking Services

Wrong claims cost more than credibility.
Get them verified before they go live.

A professional fact-checker for content that cannot afford to be wrong. I verify every claim against primary sources, flag what does not hold up, and deliver a clear source report with every pass.

Let's talk about your content See how it works ↓

A wrong claim does different damage depending on your industry.

In B2B SaaS, a vague stat undermines your authority. In legal or health content, an inaccurate claim can mislead your audience in ways that matter. In education, unchecked sources erode trust. The stakes differ, but the problem is the same: content without a fact-checking editor puts your credibility at risk.

"Studies show 73% of users prefer..."(which study? from when?)
"According to recent research..."(no link, no author, no date)
"Experts agree that..."(which experts?)

Vague claims pass editorial review because they sound plausible. They fail the moment a reader, a regulator, or a competitor looks closer.

Four things I do in every fact-checking pass

01 — Claim identification
Every verifiable statement flagged before checking
Stats, attributed quotes, named studies, product comparisons, trend assertions, regulatory references. All identified and logged before verification starts.
02 — Source verification
Each claim checked against primary sources
Primary sources where possible, secondary sources cross-checked. If a source does not exist, is outdated, or does not actually support the claim, it gets flagged. No surface-level link checks.
03 — Vague claim audit
Unverifiable language identified and flagged
"Experts say", "research shows", "most people agree" — these pass review but carry no weight. Each one is flagged with a note on whether it can be made specific or should be removed.
04 — Source report
A clean reference document, yours to keep
Every verified claim listed with its source, what it confirms, and its publication date. Your team can file it, reference it, or use it to defend the content if needed.
What you receive: a commented document with every claim marked as verified, flagged, or unverifiable, plus a separate source report. You decide what to do with the flagged items. I give you the information to make that call.

How a fact-checking pass works

1
Send your content
Google Doc, Word file, or plain text. Include a short brief: what the piece is for, who the audience is, and any existing sources you have already included.
2
I identify and log every claim
Every verifiable statement is flagged before checking starts. This includes explicit claims, implied assertions, and vague language that presents itself as fact.
3
I verify claim by claim
Each flagged claim is checked against reliable sources. Primary sources are prioritized. If a claim cannot be verified or the source does not hold up, it is clearly marked with a note on what to do instead.
4
You receive the report and commented document
A commented version of your content with every claim annotated, plus a clean source report. Turnaround: 2 to 3 business days depending on length and claim density.

A link that exists is not the same as a claim that holds up.

Surface-level checking
Does a source exist for this claim?
Confirms a URL is live. Checks whether the domain looks credible. Stops there. Misses outdated data, misattributed quotes, and sources that exist but do not support the specific claim.
Claim verification, done properly
Does this source confirm what the content says?
I read the source, locate the relevant section, and confirm the claim matches what is actually written. Publication date, methodology, and context are all part of the check.

This is for you if...

You publish content in an industry where a wrong claim has real consequences (legal, health, education, finance)
Your team uses AI-assisted drafts and needs a human verification layer before publishing
You are building topical authority and need your content to hold up to scrutiny
You want a source report you can file and refer back to if a claim is ever questioned
